The NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 (CSF 2.0) is a framework for managing cyber risk. It is organized into six core functions: Govern, Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond and Recover. Version 2.0 (2024) explicitly adds Governance as a dedicated function.
NIST CSF 2.0 adds Govern as a sixth function, broadens the scope beyond critical infrastructure and strengthens supply chain risk integration. Existing 1.1 assessments should be migrated to 2.0.
